Appointments
A session runs for approximately 50 mins to one hour.
You do not need a referral to see a Psychologist unless you wish to claim your sessions through Medicare.
The session fee is $155 per hour.
Medicare
You will need to make an appointment with your GP, as they will need to assess whether you can benefit from counselling with a psychologist. If they agree that it would be beneficial, they will provide you with a Mental Health Care Plan so that you can access counselling with a Psychologist under the Better Access Mental Health Care Initiative (MBS)
Medicare provides a rebate for up to 10 sessions per calendar year and has now approved a further 10 additional sessions, eligible to those existing under the MBS. For these 10 additional sessions, you will not require a new Mental Health Treatment Plan but you will need a review with your referring practitioner (GP or referring Doctor) after your initial 10 sessions, and be provided with a review to access sessions 11-20.
Psychology fees are also claimable through Private Health Funds.
Cancellation or Missed Appointments
A fee ($85) will be charged if appointments are cancelled with less than 48 hours’ notice.
